Arrow Accounting is led by experienced chartered accountants, Alan Connolly and Paul Wills; both are passionate about client relationships and delivering client-focused solutions. They are supported by an enthusiastic team of accounts compliance, administration and software experts.

Kerrie Gurran

Client Manager

Kerrie joined Arrow in 2014, bringing her extensive experience in administration to the team. Over the years, she has become an essential part of Arrow's operations, known for her efficiency, organisational skills, and unwavering dedication. Kerrie's ability to manage complex administrative tasks with ease has earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues.

Outside of work, Kerrie is a passionate rugby enthusiast and a devoted supporter of the Auckland Blues. Her love for the sport is a testament to her energetic and spirited nature. At home, Kerrie has one adult son, who lives outside of the Whakatane area, and enjoys life with her husband and their beloved dog on their lifestyle property.

Paul Wills

Director

Paul has 35 years’ experience in chartered accounting practice, 24 of them as a business owner, and 12 years in commercial business.

“We understand the needs of business from the business owner’s point of view and we know what each client needs to be compliant with Government regulations. I am passionate about helping people make their enterprise better, whether it’s by providing independent director, trustee, accounting or business-planning services.”

Paul is an avid cyclist, competing regularly in local cycle races. He has previously competed in multisport and adventure races, including the Motu Challenge, Coast to Coast and Southern Traverse.

Michelle Dale

Client Manager

Michelle is an experienced business manager having run her own business for 20+ years. She has 25+ years of business accounts and administration experience.  Michelle started with Arrow Accountants as a Client Manager.  After a period of four years, she moved across to the Accounting team where she continues to build on her knowledge and experiences and is a much valued member of our Accounting Compliance team.

“We give our clients peace of mind that the everyday accounts and admin tasks are taken care of. When we make life easier for our clients, they have more time and energy to work on their business.”

Michelle is a volunteer with Search and Rescue Whakatane and loves to be active outdoors. She enjoys playing tennis and making the most of time with her family.

Colleen Pryde

Colleen enjoys spending her time with her family, animals and lying on the beach in Rarotonga.

Outside of work, Cynarra enjoys cooking and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Alan Connolly

Alan is an experienced CFO, business development manager and company director and has worked in the forestry, kiwifruit, paper, aquacultural and meat industries.

“I really enjoy becoming part of my client’s team to help them achieve their goals. I provide specialist services that help clients develop and align their strategic planning, business strategies and processes, financial management, leadership and people management.”

Alan loves the outdoors and especially loves a challenge. He has competed in NZ Rock ‘n’ Roll Champs, Ironman, Coast to Coast, Kepler Challenge and walked to Everest Base Camp. In his ‘quiet time’ he likes to dive, fish and hunt.

Flynn Connolly

Flynn joined Arrow full time in 2023 after graduating from the University of Waikato and gaining valuable experience at Deloitte Hamilton where Flynn honed his skills and deepened his expertise to continue to provide top-notch accounting services.

Outside of work, Flynn enjoys hunting and fishing and is committed to helping clients achieve their financial goals with integrity and excellence.

Jenny Newland

Jen joined the Arrow team in 2020.  She has a strong background in Management, Business Management, Human Resources and Administration roles.  Proudly of Ngati Whakaue descent, Jenny integrates her cultural heritage into her professional life, offering a unique perspective and fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.

“My previous work experience has led to a passion of giving my clients the tools to simplify their processes, or completing daily tasks on their behalf, to free them up to work on the parts of their business they enjoy the most.”

Jen moved to Whakatane 12 years ago, as it was a place of many happy memories from her childhood holidays with family. In my spare time she enjoys reading, watching sport (especially rugby GO CHIEFS!) and spending time with her 3 favorite people – her kids 😊

Ngaroma Rika

Narns has experience in client management, processing annual accounts and ensuring client compliance in all aspects of their tax obligations. She holds a Degree in Commerce majoring in Accounting and Management and has plans to further her studies to become a recognized Chartered Accountant.

As a proud descendant of Te Whānau-ā-Apanui, Ngāti Awa & Te Arawa combined with her rich cultural heritage, led her to pursue a career in commerce to help not only address the needs and foster growth and development within her own community, but with every one of her clients that walk through the door.

In her spare time, Ngaroma enjoys spending quality moments with whānau and friends, sharing good kai, and creating lasting memories with her many nieces and nephews. Whether it’s eeling at night or enjoying a refreshing soak at the Haparapara River in the summer, she cherishes every moment spent with loved ones.

Moana Cassidy

With over 20 years of experience in accounting, Moana has in-depth knowledge in commercial, agricultural, Māori land trusts, and investment portfolios.  As a proud member of the Ngaitai tribe, Moana brings a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in the Māori and agricultural sectors.

Moana believes that teamwork is the key to success and that there is a great team at Arrow. "Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, he toa takitini"— My strength is not that of an individual but that of a collective.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending her weekends watching her sons play volleyball, embracing both family and community life.

Jo Young

Jo enjoys hanging out with her two boys who are both close to flying the nest for the first time, restoring old furniture, and pottering around her house and garden.

Sean joined our team in 2018, bringing with him valuable banking experience. While working with Arrow, he has completed his accounting bachelors degree and is currently a Provisional Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He is passionate about taking the stress out of running a business and offering solutions for clients. “For me, it’s about listening to the client and what they need then working alongside them to provide results and peace of mind, leaving them to focus on their business.”

Outside of the office Sean can be found on the hockey turf, hunting for new vinyl records for his collection, or at the local quiz night.
